Welcome to the early March edition of The Pyramid Post!

We've got lots happening all throughout March, with our regular Knit & Natter drop-in sessions on Mondays, Hatha Yoga on Wednesdays, Chair Yoga and Beginners Jogging on Thursdays, ESOL classes online on Wednesdays and at The Pyramid every Friday and Play on Pedals every second Saturday.

We're looking forward to hosting our first YOU MONDAY event on March 14th. Come along, and
take a bit of time out to look after yourself - with therapies, treatments, tea-making and treats! See below for more info and booking details.

As our first round of building improvements begins, there'll be works inside and outside The Pyramid; and while we are giving our building a bit of TLC booking rooms and halls will be restricted, but please get in touch and we will always see what we can do! Our kitchen is being refurbished too, but our community meal and weekly food share will be back as soon as possible – keep an eye out for further info.

We're planning
ahead for the Easter Holidays with lots of fun in store including; bug hotel building, Hapazome (bashing flowers with a hammer!), nature walks, Mind & Draw sessions, Family Fun Tennis and Pickleball...whatever that may be! Look out for more details in the next issue of the Pyramid Post!

BODY BOOSTING BINGO TRAINING
THURSDAY 24 MARCH at 10.30am - 12.30pm
FREE TRAINING EVENT with AGE SCOTLAND

Body Boosting Bingo is game of bingo with a twist; where familiar rhyming bingo calls are linked to a movement, eg. ‘Number 10, let’s twist again’ - promoting light to moderate physical activity in a social context, allowing older people to socialise and keep fit at the same time.

This workshop is for professionals, and volunteer community organisers, who would like to host Age Scotland's fun active games with their groups. The workshop will cover:

  • Physical activity in later life: what research says and public health guidelines.
  • An introduction to Age Scotland's fun and active resources: Power Quiz, Body Boosting Bingo and Around the House in 80 Days.
  • An opportunity to try out leading these activities.
  • How to plan, promote, and safely run sessions based on these resources.

Those completing the workshop will receive free materials to run their own sessions.
We're looking forward to hosting some sessions here at The Pyramid in the near future
!

The course is FREE to attend. Email kate@thepyramid.scot to book a place.
