One Croydon Training Programme March - June 2022

One Croydon's Training programme is for our frontline workforce, including: Food Banks, Social Prescribers, Health and Social Care staff, Befrienders, Faith groups, Social Workers, Employment Advisors, Charities and Volunteers. This training is targeted at people supporting better health and wellbeing in Croydon and about sharing good practice across the sectors. 

 The following sessions are 'pick and mix', free of charge and a mix of online and in-person sessions.   

Social Prescribing of Arts and Culture Development Programme
Thursday, 10 March 2022 from 10:00 to 12:00, Online    
Opportunity for those who have social prescribing in their role, delivered by Performing Medicine and supported by Arts Council England. This modular course supports social prescribers to build an understanding of how arts and culture can play a key role in healthcare. Book your place here

Learning Disability & Learning Difficulty Alliance
Tuesday, 22 March 2022 from 11:00 – 12:00 in-person at Croydon Voluntary Action Resource Centre  
Bringing together stakeholders and partners working to serve Croydon's residents who have a learning disability and their families. Our aim for this event will be to make and build on new relationships in Croydon, to discover local networks, share offers and working with what's strong and thriving for our shared goals for people with a learning disability in Croydon.  Book your place here

What is the local support for residents looking for employment? With unemployment and underemployment raising, join us to consider how we can initially support and who to contact if further, specialised support is needed. Domestic Abuse & Sexual Violence support in Croydon
Thursday, 23 June 10:30 – 12:00, online
Support available in our borough for residents who are experiencing or who have experienced domestic abuse/sexual violence. Understand what agencies are delivering, how they work together and how they could help your clients.  Book your place here 

Homeless and Health Training 
Online sessions everyday from Monday 14th to Monday 21st March with an in-person session on Tuesday 15th March 10.00- 12.00 at Bernard Weatherill House

The training will cover: 

  • The relationship between homelessness and health 
  • Making all contact count to support health 
  • Using advocacy skills to support people to look after their own health 
  • Practical ways you can support people experiencing homelessness to access and engage with healthcare ​
