RULE UPDATE
SDG IMPACT TOOL
In December 2021, we released the SDG Impact Tool to help project developers more efficiently monitor, quantify, verify, and track a project’s contributions to the SDGs. With the SDG Impact Tool coming into force from this week, this rule update provides further clarity on the applicability of the tool for existing and new projects/Programme of Activities (PoAs) and clarifications on reporting the outcomes of the tool.

CONSULTATION
SIMPLIFIED METHODOLOGY FOR CLEAN AND EFFICIENT COOKSTOVES
Simplified methodology developed to better support the origination of high-impact micro-scale clean cooking projects
We are seeking feedback on revisions made to the Simplified Methodology for Clean Cookstoves to align with latest science, introduce further efficiencies for project developers, provide more clarity where required and to promote consistency between our methodologies.
The consultation also includes a newly developed Emission Reduction Calculation Tool and a template to better support baseline/project survey questionnaires.
Summary of key changes to the methodology include:
- Inclusion of a ‘Definitions’ section
- Inclusion of charcoal as a baseline fuel in methodology scope/applicability
- Revision of the requirements to calculate project cookstove efficiency
- Inclusion of new data, parameters, and related requirements, to ensure consistency across all improved cookstoves/distributed technology methodologies
- Updates to the sample survey questionnaires
The methodology and supplementary documents, including a detailed description of all changes, are available for a public consultation until 14 April 2022. Please email standards@goldstandard.org with your feedback or questions.

RULE UPDATE
APPLICATION OF TPDDTEC METHODOLOGY TO SAFE WATER SUPPLY PROJECTS
The methodology for emission reductions from safe drinking water supply v.1.0, was released 03 May 2021 and replaced Annex 3 of the ‘Technologies and Practices for the Displacement of Decentralised Thermal Energy Consumption (TPDDTEC)’ methodology from 02 August 2021.
This rule update introduces clarifications on applicability of the new methodology to PoAs. It also includes an LPG default value for the quantity of fuel to treat 1 litre of water using baseline/project technologies.

REMINDER: FUND REQUIREMENTS FOR CERTIFICATION
Seeking feedback on new fund requirements that aim to scale finance to help close the funding gap for SDGs in developing countries
As communicated earlier this month, in collaboration with an expert Working Group, we have developed Fund Requirements for Certification to Gold Standard for the Global Goals. These new process-centric Requirements guide fund managers and investors in designing funds, implementing investment decisions, and measuring impact for credible, certified impact claims.
THE CONSULTATION
We are seeking public input on these Requirements to ensure their integrity, quality, and practicality. The draft Requirements are located in the feedback form. The consultation is open until 31 March 2022.
