In last month's newsletter, we wrote about how Dad was able to get some work knocked out before the big snow and how Rob had his first soap making lesson with Mom. Afterwards, Mom wrote a blog post on soap making and the differences between hot and cold process soaps. You can read it here:
Rob is also working closely with The Kraut Guy, taking lessons from Dad in the art of lacto-fermentation and working along side Dad each and every Saturday at Richardson Farms - which has quickly become the highlight of Rob's week!
The Indoor Farmers & Makers Market at Richardson Farms is GREAT!
You can get products from a number of vendors at the market on Saturdays, along with a variety of seasonal produce, farm raised eggs, beef, pork, and honey. They also offer many of your favorite jams, jellies, salsas, salad dressings, pickles, and more!
In addition to their produce and other products, Richardson's also work with many local vendors and carry their products in their farm store which is open Monday- Saturday 10am-6pm and Sunday 12pm-5pm.
Richardson's carries The Kraut Guy's sauerkraut, along with products from all of these other awesome local vendors:

In addition to the Indoor Farmers Market at Richardson Farms, you can also buy food locally online! Yellow House Cheese continues to offer online ordering and four different pickup locations around Northeast Ohio – which provides the opportunity to pick up everything you’d pick up at the market, including produce grown by Cody Matthew Grey and many other of the incredible small farmers in our community, and meats such as chicken, pork, beef, lamb, and more!

What's new at York Meadow Farm?
Much of our free time in February was spent preparing for the upcoming season and learning different ways to scale up all of the products that we make here on the homestead to keep up with increasing demand!
We have also spent some time out in the barn / warehouse, cleaning and rearranging - making more efficient use of the space we have to store everything we are acquiring. At times, it feels like hording tendencies - but we are preparing for the time when we are able to be on the homestead full time.
In preparation for the upcoming inspection with the Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA), Dad and Matt worked on the finishing touches in the commercial kitchen with the successful installation of a Triple Force™ low-flow pre-rinse spray valve | Chicago Faucets. The Kraut Guy seems pleased!

Support Good Folks Offering Good Food
The Yellow House Cheese online store is open Tuesday through Thursday. They have 4 Saturday pickup locations; Cleveland Heights, Church of the Saviour Parking lot 11-12 Larder Delicatessen 1-2 pm Medina County Administration Building Parking lot 9:30-10 am Yellow House Cheese in Seville 9:30-10:30 am.
We are a small group of farmers working together so please note that inventory will flex as the growing season and year progresses. You can find our sauerkraut and Cody's produce available online at the link below:
