Dementia Training Final Rule and Training Instructions
The required dementia training rules have been finalized and the training is now available on Train. Download the access instructions here. *Please note that this training is required for ALL long-term care facilities.

NMHCA/NMCAL staff have signed up to take the Training and will be completing it over the next few days. Facilities should know there are 8, 1-hour-long modules under the required training, and there are an additional 4 optional modules.

The training appears to have a high level of difficulty and uses a computer-generated voice, which makes some of the material and words difficult to understand. As a result, some staff may struggle with the training. NMHCA encourages facilities to preview each module. We have also located the PowerPoint slides on the US Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) website, which is where the training was taken from. We strongly recommend you download them and use them to help your staff better understand some of the material. You can download the slides here. When you visit the site, please note that the required modules are 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 11, and 12.
