Summer Patios Changes
The City is making some changes to pop up patios this year. While the changes are not finalized yet, it looks like there will be some reinstatement of fees, businesses will need to supply their own fencing, and pop up patios will be on the street not the sidewalk. Here is a letter from the City that includes a couple of visual examples.
 
Alpha House Needle Response Team
Alpha House Society is a local non-profit operating services for individuals experiencing homelessness and struggling with addiction. Their services include an Emergency Shelter, Detox, Housing, and Outreach Programs (including the DOAP Team). They are starting an internal staff newsletter and hoping to add a section for local business deals/coupons etc. or even to showcase businesses that have discounts for frontline workers. They thought it would be nice to both showcase local businesses and also provide staff with a little incentive.

Fraud Prevention Month
Our Community Liaison Police Officer, Cst. Torrie Ursu, has provided information about a free upcoming session on fraud prevention hosted by the Calgary Police Service. Here is information about the event on March 10. You can register online here.
