March 2 Council News 9:30-10:15, Sunday, March 6 - Prayer and Conversation: Did you miss the prayer and conversation gathering on February 20? If so, the elders are hosting another time for prayer and conversation this Sunday morning. Those who have questions about recent events at church, want to spend time in prayer, or have thoughts to share with the elders or other congregation members are invited to join us. Discernment Process: The council is exploring various denominational resources as we seek a way in which our congregation can engage together in conversations about the future of our church and the pastoral search process. You are invited to be a part of this season in the life of our church. Please continue to pray with us, and to share your thoughts and ideas. We trust the Lord to guide us as a congregation. Church and COVID-19: The council continues to monitor guidance about responding to COVID in our community. Salt Lake County is currently classified as “medium risk,” so we will continue to wear masks in the church building to help protect the physical health of vulnerable people among us. However, we also understand the need for social connection and the desire to more easily talk with one another after church. As the weather warms, let’s take conversations outside when we can, where masks can be removed and we can more easily have conversations. I Need Help…Who Do I Call?: The council is committed to your care and support. Please be in touch with your elder or deacon as needs arise. We here to listen, pray, or help in material ways. Caring Ministry: We have the opportunity as congregation members to love and serve each other. The newly formed caring team had its first meeting last Sunday and welcomes your involvement. Do you feel gifted or called to serve in this way? If so, please talk with a council member.

World Renew Ukraine Response |

|

World Renew joins in the deep global concern for the Ukrainian people following Russia's intensified military occupation of their country on February 24. The International Development Response (IDR) team has been diligently connecting with our global partners in the region to respond to the needs of vulnerable Ukrainian families. Even before hostilities escalated, an estimated 2.9 million Ukrainians were in need of humanitarian assistance; due to the current military occupation there are serious risks involved in an on-ground emergency response. An estimated 100,000 Ukrainians have now fled Ukraine and are arriving in neighboring European countries and it is expected Europe will face a huge refugee crisis. World Renew is now accepting donations for Ukraine; through our global partners/network there are several areas where we will be able to direct support to Ukrainian refugees in the coming weeks. Please keep the people of Ukraine in your prayers. To give to this response, click button below. |
