Updates from Ethiopia

I can't believe that I've been living and serving in Ethiopia for a little over a year now! It's been amazing, God has done so much, and I want to share with you just a few of the big things that have happened. (Photo from our women's Bible study, teaching alongside my husband Abenezer)

I have visited hundreds of people in our sponsorship programs, praying with them, encouraging them, and searching for new ways to improve their lives. With the provision of God, donors, and the other staff that I work with, many needs have been met. We have had a consistent weekly Bible study (pictured above) with women from each of our programs, nourishing their souls with God’s word and giving them encouragement to keep their eyes on the Lord.

Last year I was able to create a tarp project, which gave our families better shelter for the cold and rainy season. I also started the food drive project, which assisted our families with some of the staple foods they eat in Ethiopia, aiding them through the impact of the economic hardships.

|
My newest project is teaching women with my coworker and friend, Barsenet. Some of the women in our program at BHDO have never had the chance to go to school, to read or write. We have started with four women who really wanted to learn, and we are teaching them the Amharic alphabet, along with simple math, to begin. I am so excited to continue this program and see how these women grow!

Over the last year, life changes have happened, and I have lost a few monthly partners. I am looking for people who want to partner with me on this mission!
Being a monthly partner means joining me in this calling to spread Jesus’ love to others. It means partnering with me to continue to encourage the people I’ve come so close to. Some are called to go, and some are called to give. Both are just as important! We all work together for good.
We each have a role in God’s plan. So many great things are happening here in Ethiopia! I can't thank each of my monthly partners enough for joining me on this mission! You make all of this possible. I'm so grateful for these opportunities and I don't take it lightly that God is calling me to do this work. Please pray as I continue to work with many needy families and continue to adjust to life in Ethiopia.
