| | | LIFE IS THERE FOR LIVINGDear <<First Name>>,
I write this to you from home where I am currently in isolation. As disappointing as it is, I’m focussed on getting better as quickly as possible and getting back to living life and enjoying everything that it has to offer. It reminds me of the Australian film and then stage musical, Strictly Ballroom, which reminds us that “a life lived in a fear is a life half lived”. We really do have to learn to live with COVID. Masks on, hand sanitising and keeping that little bit more space between each other in the foyer etc. The last two years have certainly taught us how to adapt. I’m disappointed to be missing out seeing the Acacia Quartet on Friday night, The Eyes of Tammy Faye, the Paolo Rossi soccer documentary, and the second and final session of The Lake of Scars - something is that very topical for the Cowra community. I had the great pleasure of seeing this last Sunday afternoon and it was moving, informative and inspiring. So I won’t see you this weekend, but the amazing team at Cowra Civic Centre will be there to welcome you all. I hope you get out an enjoy what life has to offer.
Jonathan Manager Cowra Civic Centre | | THIS WEEKEND | | ACACIA QUARTET

Tammy Faye was legendary for her indelible eyelashes, her idiosyncratic singing, and her eagerness to embrace people from all walks of life. However, it wasn’t long before financial improprieties, scheming rivals, and scandal toppled their carefully constructed empire. Here there exists a link to an ancient culture, unlike anywhere else in Australia. A place of astounding beauty and rare cultural, archaeological and environmental significance, it is being degraded on an annual basis. One ageing farmer has spent decades identifying and caring for the scar trees and middens which dot the country, working with members of Yung Balug clan. As the clock ticks, an unlikely partnership could see it saved for future generations. The Lake of Scars is a story of environment and heritage, water and culture.

| | | | | CYRANO M – Violence Award-winning director Joe Wright envelops moviegoers in a symphony of emotions with music, romance, and beauty in Cyrano, re-imagining the timeless tale of a heartbreaking love triangle. A man ahead of his time, Cyrano de Bergerac (played by Peter Dinklage) dazzles whether with ferocious wordplay at a verbal joust or with brilliant swordplay in a duel. But, convinced that his appearance renders him unworthy of the love of a devoted friend, the luminous Roxanne (Haley Bennett), Cyrano has yet to declare his feelings for her — and Roxanne has fallen in love, at first sight, with Christian (Kelvin Harrison, Jr.).
