Know Your Rights in preparation for Rebellion!
:fire: It's essential that all rebels know their legal rights. Even if you don't intend to get arrested, or think you aren't doing anything illegal, you can unintentionally become caught up in police action. At that point, making it clear to the Police that you know your rights, eg in stop and search as well as after arrest, can make a huge difference to the outcome of your encounter.
:green_heart: Your rights are extensive, and are covered in this video issued by XR Legal: https://youtu.be/VnezsIlm928
It's divided into sections, so you can watch a chunk at a time, and links to written resources are given on the Youtube page.
:tada: The video will be supplemented by live sessions attended by members of XR Legal. These sessions will (i) include coverage of 'what it's like to be arrested', with an arrestee giving first-hand experience, and (ii) provide an opportunity to clarify the content of the video and to address questions arising from it.
:exclamation: These sessions aren't a substitute for watching the video. Before attending, please ensure you've watched it carefully, so that everyone's time within the sessions can be used effectively.
:calendar: Please register in advance for the live sessions, which will take place on: :small_orange_diamond:
