The Program Coordinator for St. Luke’s Children’s Injury Prevention team is looking for a motivated, outgoing student who has a heart to make a difference in the lives of children in and around the Treasure Valley. This is an opportunity to gain health promotion and education experiences before graduating and entering the real world of community health.
Children’s Prevention Internship:
As Idaho’s only Children’s Hospital, St. Luke’s Children’s is leading the way to make an impact in trauma and injury prevention efforts for the children of our community and state. Our prevention program is dedicated to decreasing the number of unintentional injuries to children, a leading cause of mortality and morbidity.
Our Injury Prevention team offers various community events that include: car seat checks, bike helmet distributions, holiday safety outings, and hospital wide fun. Events will take place at schools, in varying communities, and organizations within the Treasure Valley and surrounding area. You will be working closely with the Program Coordinator, to plan and implement events. This could include designing display boards and educational materials, developing games, activities, and presentations that relate to an injury prevention topic, and staffing events and presentations.
