We want to take this opportunity to recognize and honor all our incredible education support professionals at EMS and LWSD! During the pandemic, they have been there for our students every step of the way: They're keeping our schools clean and sanitized, repairing buildings, navigating multiple bus routes, preparing healthy meals, and so much more. Thank you for the difference you make in our schools. We celebrate you today and every day!

SBA Testing for All Grades Scheduled for May

Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA) state testing will take place at Evergreen during the weeks of May 16 and May 23. Please do not schedule any appointments or vacations during these weeks. More details will be shared by EMS later this spring. Learn more about SBA testing on LWSD's website.

Nutrition Services at EMS and other LWSD schools is looking for you! Working with Nutrition Services is the perfect job for parents, with shift times that fit your students' school days. The current openings at EMS are from 9 am to 1:30 pm Monday through Friday. Please click the image to the right for more information and to apply.

Youth Susceptibility to Extremism: What Parents Can Do

At the next free online Parent Chat, hosted by Lake Washington Schools Foundation's Balance in Mind program, learn what parents can do about youth susceptibility to extremism. Guest speaker Enrique Nusi from Middlebury Institute will discuss with us how "good" kids get lured into extremism, why your child might be vulnerable, and what you can do as a parent.

Foster a Growth Mindset: Unlock Your Child's Full Potential

Lake Washington PTSA Council and LWSD present a free online parent education event with parent coach and author Melissa Benaroya. Join us to learn how a growth mindset leads to increased effort, greater confidence, and willingness to take risks and learn from mistakes. Find out how parents and caregivers can model growth mindset for kids and avoid the pitfalls of rewards, bribes and punishments.
