Hi <<First Name>>,

Happy Friday! We hope you all had a great week. Last week, we incorrectly said the Primary Runoff was on May 7. It's actually on May 24, and we apologize for the confusion! Find information below about our upcoming Candidate Screener Training, tickets for the We Are One Honors on Wednesday, April 13, and a follow up on resources and guidance regarding recent attacks on gender-affirming health care for trans youth.

CORRECTION: Primary Runoff is May 24

We need to start off with a correction: in last week's FYI Friday we said the Primary Runoff was on May 7. However, this is incorrect. The Runoff is on May 24, while the uniform election is on May 7. We apologize for this oversight!

To reiterate: Candidates who were screened and endorsed for the March Primary will continue to be endorsed if they made it to the runoff. No further actions are needed.

At the April 6 PAC Meeting we will open the possibility for reconsiderations and endorsements for the Primary Runoff. To qualify you must meet the following criteria:
  • Submitted a questionnaire AND screened for the Primary Endorsement
  • Your race had a candidate that was endorsed, but that candidate did not make it to the runoff
We will NOT reconsider candidates in races where a “No Endorsement” decision was made and accepted.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact screenings@thecaucus.org.

Community Corner Follow Up

Thank you to Brad Pritchett from Equality Texas for speaking with us at our March General Body Meeting for Community Corner.

As a follow up to his presentation, Brad provided us with a link to the Federal guidance regarding the attacks on transgender youth in Texas. Here is a link to the statement. Also, the Department of Health and Human Services released a memo providing further guidance.
