Join us on a school tour!

Though the Majengo kids go to many different schools in the area, one of the schools almost all the children attend at some point is Mwalimu Anna's English Medium School (MAEMS). This school goes from Baby Class (pre-school) to Primary 7 (Grade 7). It is located within walking distance of MCH and currently there are 36 Majengo children studying there.

At MAEMS, they learn English and they are prepared - from a very young age - to thrive in the Tanzanian standardized test system, and ultimately in Secondary School. The opportunities afforded by this school are endless, and you can see this through the success of each student.

The Majengo children would not be able to attend this school without the support of their sponsors and all the Majengo donors.

All of the littlest students at Majengo attend pre-school and kindergarten at MAEMS. We want to give you an inside look at the classrooms, where the children play and where they learn all day.

This is Teacher Sabina!

Teacher Sabina has been a teacher at MAEMS for many years. She teaches the youngest students at the school. In her class, the children learn literacy and numeracy skills, as well as interpersonal skills that continue to help them as they grow. Though much of the day is focused on class time, there is always time to play outside, too!

The classrooms at MAEMS are all a little different, but they all use lots of teaching aids and plenty of visuals.

Some of the classrooms are also partially outdoors to help keep the students (and teachers!) cool during the hottest parts of the year.

MAEMS also has a computer lab and a library where the children have different classes throughout the week.

With all the available facilities, the MCH children continue to grow and thrive and become well prepared for their ongoing academic journeys. Thank you for the part you have played in this!
