The Hub’s Spring 2022 Innovation Challenge is an ideation competition where students or student groups compete to solve real-world problems! The goal of this program is to foster real-life, innovative solutions to specific challenges facing our communities. During the challenge, students or student groups will work as a team to develop an innovative approach, product, service, or program and present their ideas to be judged by a panel of innovative and entrepreneurial experts. The Hub’s Spring 2022 Innovation Challenge will award a winning student group with a cash prize.
Some quick FAQs:
- WHO: Any CSUSM student or group of students with a passion for sustainability, repurposing, and moving towards zero waste!
- WHAT: A four-page proposal for an innovative idea to creatively repurpose items or other strategies to achieve zero waste.
- WHERE: While ideas can be applied anywhere globally, an emphasis on regional solutions is encouraged.
- WHEN: Submissions are due April 24th, 2022.
- WHY: By 2050, scientists predict more plastic than marine life will be in our oceans. Regionally, San Diego landfills will be completely full by 2025. We want to empower students to provide solutions to prevent these statistics from coming true.
