Palden Lhamo Practice
Led by Lama Losang Samten
Saturday March 12
4 p.m. Mountain Time / 6 p.m. Eastern Time
via Zoom
Venerable Losang Samten will lead this practice with his usual simple and very practical style.
"There are so many Buddhas and Bodhisattvas who are constantly willing to help all living beings overcome suffering, and the reason they reached enlightenment is their willingness to help other sentient beings. They are willing to protect day and night, twentyfour hours a day. The most important and powerful protector deity in Buddhist history is the female protector deity, Palden Lhamo.
Nevertheless, even though these enlightened beings, including Palden Lhamo, are always willing to help, it is necessary for us to cultivate this potential within ourselves. We need to be open to receive the blessings of these deities" - Tibetan Buddhist Encyclopedia
Hosted by Chenrezig Tibetan Buddhist Center in El Paso, TX

Equanimity, The Foundation of Bodhicitta
Equanimity is one of The Four Immeasurable Thoughts--a divine virtue that generates deep awareness of equality toward all beings. Equanimity is the foundation upon which the mind of enlightenment, bodhicitta, is able to develop within us. Lama Yeshe says, "We cannot create beautiful bodhicitta within our mind until the distortions of seeing others in distinctions of friend, enemy or stranger are eliminated."
Sue Passante will be our host this Sunday while Lama Losang is visiting our sister sangha in El Paso, TX. Please join Sue in a discussion and guided meditation on the challenges we sometimes face in our quest to perfect our equanimity.

"If we appreciate the opportunities that we have now with this precious human life and if we recognize and acknowledge the fact that this life is not going to last and that we are going to die sometime, if we recognize that our behavior is going to shape our experience in this life and also after we die in future lives, and if we realize that no matter what we experience in the future, because it will arise from behaving from confusion, we will have a lot of difficulties and troubles, then we will turn our minds to the Dharma." - Dr. Alexander Berzin
