Supplement your curriculum with Challenger STEM Programs!

Greeting Teachers!

Challenger Learning Center of Alaska has an exciting scholarship to offer you! The Challenger network is offering this limited opportunity to schools and teachers who book in-person simulated missions or our new virtual missions to receive a partial scholarship to cover programming costs.  Virtual Mission options, Destination Moon and Destination Mars, are a visually exciting experience, bringing Challenger's famous space missions to you! They are delivered online and in real-time by Challenge Learning Center Interactive Science Specialists. These 1-hour engaging, collaborative experiences are aligned to national education standards and are the perfect program for remote, hybrid, and socially distant classrooms. Even if you are local, these virtual missions are a big hit with students and will be something special to add to your curriculum!

In-person Simulated Missions, Mars, Moon, and Lunar, are STEM experiences designed for middle school to high school students. The space-themed simulation-based experiences are also led by our trained Interactive Science Specialists and take place in a fully immersive Space Station and Mission Control simulation spaces that turn learning into an unforgettable memory. Students assume the role of NASA professionals and astronauts to conduct research and complete projects to have a successful mission. Challenger also provides Teachers with a pre-curriculum to prepare their students before their visit. Both virtual missions and simulated missions have shown students they are capable of great things and inspire them to pursue higher education for STEM careers.

These missions are made available by a grant from Blue Origin's foundation, Club for the Future. Participants must be from the following types of groups: School groups, including public, private, charter, or homeschool groups, Title 1 or rural schools, or an organized/formal non-school group that has a designated group leader (Scouts, STEM Clubs, LEGO Leagues, etc.). Participants must be students aged 8-18, with at least 10 participants and the completion of the post-survey is required. The Simulated Missions scholarship covers $500 per session and the Virtual Mission scholarship covers $200 per session. Missions must be flown by August 31, 2022.
