Teen Yoga & Mindfulness Club (Grades 7-12)

The Yoga & Mindfulness Club is dedicated to supporting teens to:

  • rest their minds and bodies

  • build physical and mental strength

  • strengthen their self-awareness

  • grow their compassion and self-love

  • boost their confidence

  • expand their positive thinking

Each class will include yoga postures, breath-work, a guided relaxation, mindfulness activities and personal journaling (art and/or words). Teens will get a chance to share their experiences with others, should they wish.

These classes will be empowering, restful and engaging, allowing teens to build connections to themselves and to others in a safe, nurturing, and non-judgmental space.

Teacher: Jen Khouri

➢ I am fully bilingual (French/English).

I am an experienced and qualified (B.Ed) teacher with more than

20 years’ experience in the classroom (elementary, middle school, high school, CEGEP)

➢ I have been teaching yoga since 2008 and exclusively youth yoga since 2015.

➢ I introduce yoga to teens in a compassionate way; gently guiding them in their exploration journey.

DETAILS

Dates: Tuesdays March 22-April 26 2022 (6 weeks)

Times: 6:15-7:15pm (Gr.7-9) – 7:30-8:30pm (Gr.10-12)

Location: The Bronson Centre (211 Bronson Ave., Ottawa)

Cost: $180 (includes Journaling Kit)
