Principal's Message

Dear School Family,

Hello, everyone!

I recently pointed out that recess is getting back to normal, and our HSA team stepped up to supply a huge load of balls, toys, sidewalk chalk, etc. The excitement and energy on the playground is inspiring and refreshing!

But that energy also has its challenges, and we need YOUR HELP. Recess volunteers are needed, especially for grades K-5. Please be on the lookout for a sign up genius in the next few days.

On another note, we’ve begun the holy season of Lent. Yesterday Father Cibelli sprinkled ashes on all of our heads, reminding us that we are dust and to dust we shall return. He also reminded the kids to use this time of Lent to grow closer to God by praying, being generous to others, and by obeying God and not sinning.

Basically, that’s the three-fold call of the Church for all of us during Lent: Prayer, Almsgiving, and Fasting (not only from food, but also from our bad habits). One of the big things kids could “fast” from during Lent is electronics (games, TV, social media, etc.). This would certainly help them as students, and would definitely help in curbing the growing issue of kids being drawn-in unexpectedly to the cunning evil forces lurking around the corner in many on-line games, social media, etc. More on this topic soon.

The Kids Heart Challenge event will take place on your child's PE day the week of Feb 28th. All monies collected are due by March 7th. Thank you in advance for your participation in such a worthy cause!
