Croydon news

In support of our partners:  Many thanks for your nomination under the Outstanding Community Contribution category in Pride of Croydon! CVA is very proud of the work our staff and volunteers have done since the first lockdown to support communities across the borough.
We are even prouder of the community organisations we support – not least the foodbanks who responded so magnificently during Covid19 and our My Ends partners who are doing so much to end knife crime in the borough.
Rather than putting ourselves forward for awards, CVA’s preference is to back our community partners. We have therefore decided to withdraw CVA from the nominees. You can vote for one of the other groups at https://www.prideofcroydon.com/vote
Best of luck to all our groups on the 9th April!

The Children’s Integrated Commissioning and Procurement Team has now moved into the Children, Young People and Education department. The service director is Kerry Crichlow and there is a new head of service, Shelley Prince, who joined in November 2021.

Work to develop a Partnership Early Years Strategy has started involving the council, CCG and early years practitioners as well as parents. Stakeholder events are being delivered to engage parents, carers and partners to get their views on what needs to change, improve or needs to be maintained, to ensure we achieve good outcomes for children in the early years. There is also an online survey for parents and carers, that can be completed until the end of Sunday this week. Have your say at https://www.getinvolved.croydon.gov.uk/early-years-strategy-2022-25-feedback-survey/survey_tools/early-years-strategy-2022-25-feedback-survey11

Best Start Update: Crosfield Nursery School were awarded the contract for the North and Central Children’s Centre Hub and Spokes. Services are currently being mobilised across the 2 localities. The Council has gone back out to procurement for the South Locality Children’s Centre Hub and Spokes in February and hope for more success in awarding the contract at the end of March.
