PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Happy March, GAA members! This month, we have new member news to share in our Member News and events section below.

At our February meeting Diane explained what she has learned about painting with pastels, and showed how to paint a rose. There weren't enough paintings for a mini-show.

We will have our next GAA meeting on March 10th at 7pm, at BMAI (2228 Florencita Dr., Montrose, CA 91020). Please continue to wear your masks. For our meeting, we need 8 artists to bring a piece of work so we can hold a mini-show, so please bring new artwork.

Our event for this month's meeting is Artists showing artists how to paint a portrait. We will have several easels set up and you can paint along or just observe how the artists create their work.

We will continue our discussion regarding changes coming at BMAI and how it might affect GAA.

We are working on possible shows at BMAI and USC Verdugo Hills Hospital.

REMINDER: It's time to renew your membership.

The framed pastel "The Glowing Rose" became part of my works in the show "La Feria de las Flores" curated by Dulce Stein, at the Border X Brewery(info below).

MEMBER NEWS:

Helena B. will be showing work at the Geo Gallery, 1545 Victory Blvd., Glendale, in "Life as We all See it". The show will be there from Feb. 28th to March 25th.
The Autry opens "Masters of the American West", Feb. 13th to March 27th.
Stefanie's Art Candy Machine is still selling mini-art at the corner of Fairview St., and W. Oak St. in Burbank, CA If you haven't seen it, go see the amazing variety of small art works there.
George Scribner will be showing his work at the Museo del Canal, in Panama City, Panama, opening on May 5th. It is the same structure as the French headquarters in 1800.
Bella Sohn is showing her work at the Urartu coffee shop at 119 N. Artsakh Ave., Glendale.
A new painting group is forming to gather on Mondays from 10:30am to 1:30pm. at BMAI. Contact Diane C. for more information.
Diane C. has 4 floral works of art at Border X Brewery at 4400 E. Gage Ave, Bell, CA. It is open from 5pm till 10pm.
