We can’t get over our Savior’s love for us, “While we were still sinners, Christ died for us”. (Romans 5:8) Not just any death, but death on a cross. Every drop of his blood was shed for the saint's past, present, and future sins. When we repent of our sins and accept the free gift of our Savior, our Heavenly Father sees us as holy and righteous. Happy Love Month!
The faithfulness of a supporter to go above and beyond the $55 monthly sponsorship has had a powerful impact on their sponsored family! Entagne is a cancer survivor, and her supporter’s desire was to see this woman bless her family for future generations in the event of her death. Entagne has a successful injera business selling to local hotels and restaurants. She has been saving every additional dollar given by her supporters and has purchased land in the outskirts of Addis to someday build a home for her children. Entagne and her children are doing well and their future is changing through the generosity of their sponsor family.
Great hope is received through funds given for the purchase of an oven that benefits the Korah 1 and the Korah 3 school programs located at the BHDO center. Did you know these children have the opportunity to be fed spiritually as they are also fed physically? Many of the students’ families are sponsored through BTM. Why do we serve? We serve because of His love! This image shows BHDO partners, Habtamu and Medi, and BTM missionary, Kim Ellis, traveling to share with the families in Korah. There are many days when I ask the Lord, “Why have you placed us here and why are the people of Ethiopia in such dire need of life sustaining basic supplies?” Then He reminds me of my first trip to Ethiopia and the love and the joy I saw the people express the moment I landed. In spite of the living conditions, many of the Ethiopians look to the Lord daily to provide what they need for the day. They live day by day until there’s nothing left. We serve our sponsored families to help not only with basic needs but also as an avenue to point them to a living God who has a future kingdom prepared for them.
