Dear All,

I have some more details about the trees we are going to plant at the recreation ground, with your help, tomorrow morning (Saturday 5th March).

There are about 50 small saplings from the Woodland Trust. We need to plant each of them in a shallow slit made by a spade and about 10cm deep, along with a supporting cane. They will then be 'wrapped' with a spiral protector. We are planting them in a line along the boundary of Ewhurst rec with Sayers Croft, the western edge, where in the past a lot of trees have come down.

This won't take very long, and so if we meet at the rec at 10am we should be finished by midday. Please bring a spade, we have a couple spare if you aren't able to bring one.

The trees were given to Ewhurst Infants School along with a hedge currently being planted near the cemetery. The Parish Council have agreed that the rec needs the trees and have asked us to help plant them. The rest of the hedging will be planted by the cemetery after the brambles have been cleared.

Next month, or perhaps later this month, we will be planting again, but this time Yellow Rattle flowers in the new wildflower meadow next to the pond. The timing depends on when the plug plants are delivered!

I hope to see you tomorrow.
All the best,
Eddie
