Kingston Council is building over 100 much-needed affordable new council homes for its residents - the borough's first in a generation.
All of the homes will be high quality and sustainable, benefitting Kingston residents for generations to come, and supporting the council’s aim to reduce the borough’s carbon emissions.

In Kingston, there is a real need for affordable and suitable housing for our residents, and our new-build programme is just one of many ways we are working to make this happen. Whether it's by delivering 941 affordable homes on the Cambridge Road Estate, or working with private landlords to alleviate the borough's deep housing need, providing suitable, affordable and high quality homes for our residents is a priority for us.

 Telling stories through the arts
Voices of Hope, together with Kingston Council, are working on a groundbreaking project which uses creative writing, photography and film to tell the stories of women who have been through abuse.
It’s called the Pearl Project and is focused on Kingston, but will have a much wider reach.

Living Safely with Covid
|
|
|
Whilst the Covid legal restrictions have been lifted in England, the firm guidance remains until April 1st to take regular lateral flow tests (LFTs), especially around those more vulnerable to the effects of the virus. And if you have cold-like symptoms, you should still request a PCR test, and are still advised to self-isolate. If positive, you can end isolation and continue as normal from day 6 onwards, provided you have 2 negative LFT results on days 5 & 6, and don’t have a high temperature.

First meeting of the Seething Wells All Party Working Group
The Seething Wells All Party Working Group will investigate additional options available regarding the protection of the wildlife and diversity of the Seething Wells Filter Beds, taking evidence from stakeholders and interested parties. They will meet for the first time this Friday, 11 March at 2pm at the Guildhall. Find out more information on our website.

Kingston is hosting a Health & Wellbeing Day for those experiencing homelessness or seeking asylum in South West London next week. Held at Kingston United Reformed Church, the event will offer a range of health checks, tests and advice as well as the chance to have a COVID-19 or flu vaccination. Hot food, haircuts and a variety of other health and wellbeing stalls will also be available.
