Join us for our Annual Meeting on April 5th, at 7 pm at the Library.

  • Report from Alderwomen O'Neill (Ward 2) and Pindell Charles (Ward 3)
  • Upcoming Events 
  • Election of Officers (Interested in joining? Sign up here!)

 We need IT help to produce our upcoming meeting. If you have experience or can help to set up the computer, microphone(s), camera(s), or monitor the chat, let us know here. Without such a person, there will be no zoom webinar. Help – where are you, IT person?
 
About GHCA & Descriptions of Positions

GHCA MISSION: The Germantown Homewood Community Association (GHCA) is a volunteer-run organization that connects its residents through social events, community improvement projects, and periodical newsletters, and serves as a contact point with Annapolis city officials to disseminate information to its members.

The GHCA Elected officers and Board support the mission by...

  • Meeting monthly to plan upcoming events both established and new
  • Determine fundraising goals and how to best use GHCA funds 
  • Brainstorm beautification projects including Greenscape and Poplar Park Projects
  • Work with the City toward neighborhood improvements 

The following is a brief overview of the elected and non-elected positions, however, each neighbor brings their unique vision and skills to their position.

OFFICERS
Chair 
  • Runs monthly meetings and leads agenda
  • Assists in Neighborhood News
  • Connects with Neighbors on relevant issues
  • Represents GH when applicable to City, businesses, etc.

  • Assist Chair 
  • Oversees Events with Board Members

Treasurer
  • Maintains Membership 
  • Organizes GHCA Financials

Secretary
  • Takes meeting minutes
  • Manage GHCA email
  • Manages zoom invites and room reservations where applicable

Board ("Steering Committee")
Volunteer positions that attend monthly meetings, provide input on newsletter content and meeting agendas, vote in making decisions for the neighborhood, and include individual Committee Chairs which include, but are not limited to, 
  • Events Committee
  • Poplar Park Committee
  • Communication Committee 
  • City Committee 
  • Website 
(Board members can be involved in more than one committee)
