Dear Boston Collegiate Families,
Our high school students have been hard at work as they prepare to debut The Addams Family! Performances will be held at The Strand (543 Columbia Rd.) on Thursday, March 10th and Friday, March 11th at 7:00 PM. Tickets are pay-what-you-can at the door, and seating is general admission. Per the city of Boston’s regulations, all audience members will be required to wear a mask while in The Strand.
Our students are so excited to be back on stage, and we hope you will come out to support them and see the show!

Class of 2023 Senior Trip Informational Meeting
March 15th
We will be hosting an informational Zoom meeting for families to learn more about next year’s Senior Trip to Puerto Rico. Please use this link to register for the meeting and to receive the Zoom link.
Senior Photo Submission
Deadline: April 15th
Please submit your senior photos to Ms. Lopez at ylopez@bostoncollegiate.org. If you’d like to sign up for professional senior photos paid for by the school, please share your preferences here.
Golden Gala: 9th/10th Grade Semi-Formal
March 25th
The Golden Gala (flyer here) will take place on Friday, March 25th, in the Commons from
7:00- 9:00 PM! Students may purchase tickets for $5. Outside guests are not allowed and masks will be required indoors. If you are interested in volunteering or donating snacks/food, please email Ms. Monestime ( nmonestime@bostoncollegiate.org).
Spring Artisan Fair
The High School will be hosting a Spring Artisan Fair in May to showcase vendors from our Boston Collegiate community. We are seeking vendors who would like to sell a product, art or service– for example, handmade soaps and lotions, custom clothes, jewelry, or bakery items. The possibilities are endless! We hope to get a variety of students, families and community members to join us so that we can celebrate all that our community has to offer! If you are interested in possibly being a vendor or have any other questions, please join us on March 30th at 6:00 PM for an informational zoom session hosted by Ms. Monestime and Ms. Darling.
Help Boston Collegiate Advocate for More Funding!
Next week is the Massachusetts Charter Public School Association’s Virtual Advocacy Week. Register here to help us educate legislators about charter public schools and advocate for an increase in charter funding . By registering, you’ll be invited to join the virtual Kick-Off Rally at 7:00 PM this Monday, March 7th, and also be given the opportunity to take meaningful action from your phone or computer that will only take five minutes each day.

Relaunching the Junior Internship Program
We still need help from Boston Collegiate families to relaunch our Junior Internship Program this spring! This meaningful job shadow opportunity will provide two weeks of hands-on learning experience to our students. If you or anyone you know would be willing to host one or more Boston Collegiate 11th graders at your place of work from Monday, May 16th, through Friday, May 27th, please reach out to Bethany Franz, Chief of Staff and External Affairs, at bfranz@bostoncollegiate.org. From finance and real estate to nursing and engineering, our students are interested in ALL career fields.

Below, please find a summary of our community’s pooled testing, symptomatic testing program, and community positivity rates this week, ending March 4th:
- Staff pooled testing resulted in 0 positive pools.
- Student pooled testing resulted in 1 inconclusive pool, yielding 0 positive results.
- 7 students were administered a rapid test through our symptomatic testing program, yielding 0 positive results.
- 0 staff were administered a rapid test through our symptomatic testing program.
- 0 students and 1 staff tested positive through outside testing.
- A total of 0 students and 1 staff tested positive this week.
- With this data, the Boston Collegiate positivity rate this week is 0.25%.
- While not included in this week’s positivity rate, 0 students and 1 staff tested positive during February break.

Enrichment
Athletics
The Winter Athletic Banquet will be held on March 16th, 2022. Invitations will be sent out through Family ID to all student-athletes and parents or guardians.
All winter athletes must turn in their game jersey tops and bottoms. Varsity winter athletes must also return their warm-ups.
Registration for spring season athletics is now open. Follow this link to register. We are offering Boys Volleyball, Girls and Boys Track & Field, Girls Softball, and Boys Baseball. To be eligible for try-outs, all interested athletes must have a completed Family ID registration and be academically cleared. Academic eligibility will be based on grades posted on School Brains on the 16th of March.
The deadline to register for spring sports is Friday, March 18th.

Urban Entrepreneurs Program
The Urban Entrepreneurs Program is an after-school program that helps youth find their inner passion in the creative arts world by providing them workshops on such topics as photography, videography, music engineering, disc jockey engineering, digital real estate, and hair, nail and makeup artistry. Through this eight-week program, students will learn skills that will help position them to enter the working world as self-reliant entrepreneurs. Students should fill out this google form to express interest or see Ms. Darling’s email for more details.

College Coner
Attention Junior families: We will be hosting our Junior Family College Kick-Off meeting the evening of Thursday, March 17th, from 6:30 - 7:30 PM. The meeting will cover the upcoming college application season and outline the levels of support our College and Career Counseling Team will provide throughout the application process. Parents and Guardians can attend in person or participate over Zoom. Youth Mental Health First Aid
Tuesday, March 29, 2022; 10:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Boston Collegiate is offering a no-cost training on Youth Mental Health First Aid to staff and families. This training, developed by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among children and adolescents ages 6-18. More information can be found here.
The training will take place live via Zoom on Tuesday, March 29th, 2022, from 10am to 3:30pm. Participants must complete approximately two hours of self-paced online coursework in advance in order to join the training. If you are interested in attending, please fill out this Google Form by Friday, March 11th, in order to register.
