Our panellists will provide their perspective on ‘Living through COVID19’ with a focus on building back better our shopping strips and Yarra's cultural and arts identity and activities.
 
Mayor Sophie Wade — Nicholls Ward councillor, Yarra City Council
Sophie has lived in and around Yarra for most of her life — from her days crossing the Darebin Creek to primary school in Alphington, to socialising at cafes and bars in Fitzroy as a young adult, to playing netball in Clifton Hill. Before her election to Council, Sophie worked as a competition and consumer lawyer at an international firm, working mainly for regulators. 
 
Siu Chan, Unit Manager, Arts and Cultural Events, City of Yarra
With over 20 years of experience, Siu Chan has played a critical role in shaping the cultural life of Yarra and has championed the arts as an everyday experience. Siu has driven many innovative City of Yarra  initiatives in support of the creative sector in a changing city. These include programs such as ‘Room to Create’, dedicated to maintaining and growing creative spaces, and programs to celebrate the night time economy such as music festivals and place making public art.
 
PK, People of Gertrude Street
In 2020. with Fitzroy stamped on both his birth certificate and driver licence, PK established People of Gertrude Street to celebrate and strengthen the Gertrude Street community and to bring people and businesses together. PK is passionate about building vibrant and sustainable communities and appreciates the role that thriving businesses contribute to the fabric and liveability of Yarra. 
 
The response by our presenters to ‘Living through COVID’ will be followed by a Q&A session.
