India: Compliance Case Concerning IFC-Supported Affordable Housing Project Deferred to IFC

CAO has released a compliance appraisal report on a complaint regarding an IFC -supported affordable housing project in India. The appraisal determined that the case merits an investigation regarding concerns of physical and economic displacement and the application of IFC’s Performance Standard 5 on land acquisition and resettlement. CAO decided to defer the investigation to allow for an early and direct resolution by IFC, its client and the complainant. CAO will monitor the investigation for six months. The deferral period will allow IFC and its client to implement a six-month action plan designed to respond to the complainant’s claim in a manner consistent with IFC's environmental and social performance standards and requirements. Panama: Compliance Investigation Finalized Regarding IFC Advisory Services Project

CAO has finalized a compliance investigation report regarding an IFC advisory services project related to  Panama’s state transmission company. Under the 2021 CAO Policy, IFC has 50 business days to prepare a management report in response to this case. Once available, IFC will submit its response to the Board for approval, after which CAO’s investigation report will be published in English and Spanish together with the management report.
