Confirmation of talk venue and date

Newsletter date: 7 March, 2022

Dear Hampton Society supporter,

I hope you are all well. I have an update for you regarding our next talk and Annual General Meeting on 28 April.

We have received a note from several members that the date printed in the spring newsletter for the Capital Ring talk was incorrect and we apologise for any confusion this may have caused.

Kind regards,

William Redfern

The Capital Ring

A talk by Robin Field-Smith

The Greenwood Centre, Hampton Hill,
Thursday 24 March, 7.30pm for 8.00pm start

The Capital Ring is an urban walking route in a loop around inner and central London, staying within ten miles of Big Ben. It crosses the Thames at Richmond in the west and Woolwich in the east and takes in many of the city’s open green spaces as well as sections along canals and waterways.

Robin and a group of ‘Parish Plodders’ from his church have recently completed walking the ring. His talk will explain the route, how to make the best of it, and show photos of places of particular interest.

Our talks are free to members. Guests are welcome but we ask for a donation towards our speaker costs.

The Greenwood Centre is accessible from Windmill Road and then School Road or from Holly Road and then School Road.
Please note that we are unable to offer refreshments at this talk.

Ukrainian Refugee Help

Ukrainian Refugee Help

You may have heard that the owners of Prosperity restaurant in Twickenham are collecting collecting essential items for displaced Ukrainians. They are in need of first aid kits, baby food, baby milk, nappies, sanitary items, hot water bottles, ibuprofen, toothpaste, sleeping bags and blankets. They are then being driven to Ukraine.

Closer to Hampton, Bentons café at the junction with Hampton Hill High Street and Hampton Road will take in items and transport them to the Prosperity restaurant in Twickenham.
