Dear Community Members,
On Wednesday, March 21, Jewish Federations of Canada – United Israel Appeal held an exclusive briefing from our partners on the ground in Ukraine and the region. Thank you to all the excellent speakers for such an informative and moving presentation. If you missed it, you can find the recording here. While we all access news on the war in Ukraine from a multitude of sources this unique Jewish/Canadian perspective is timely and valuable.
The briefing included direct reporting from those working in our partner agencies on the ground, the Joint Distribution Committee and The Jewish Agency for Israel, as well as firsthand testimonials from Ukrainians who have been forced to leave homes, as well as their brothers, husbands, fathers and son’s behind in order to find safety.
What was clear from each speaker was; this is not a short-term conflict. Consequences of this terrible war will be felt for years to come. And we, as the United Federation Systems, will be there with the people of Ukraine for the long haul.
