Capital Access Program for Small Businesses

The City of Seattle is now accepting applications for capital access to small businesses. If you own a small business, or can pass this information along, please look at the Capital Access Program which invests $8 million of economic recovery funding to connect small businesses with operating capital. The program works by paying down 25% of the loan principal for The Washington State Department of Commerce’s Small Business Flex Loans.

Applications for this critical resource close on April 8. Please consider applying, or help spread the word!

Pioneer Square Preservation Board

As I mentioned in my last newsletter, the Department of Neighborhoods is still accepting applications for the Pioneer Square Preservation Board. You will have to act fast, however, as applications are due by March 31.

This 10-member body reviews façade alterations, signs, new construction, changes of use, and street improvements and makes recommendations to the Seattle Department of Neighborhoods Director for all properties within the Pioneer Square Preservation District. The board meets twice a month, and board members may be asked to sit on an additional subcommittee.

Library Hours Expanding

Beginning on Wednesday, March 30, the Seattle Public Library will resume its pre-Omicron operating hours. In addition, for the first time in two years the Central Library’s Book Spiral will re-open, as will the 10th floor Reading Room.

Masking at libraries is still strongly encouraged, though not required. Any patron may request curbside assistance by calling the branch numbers listed below.
