Faith Diary
The season of Lent is all about reconciliation and the famous story of the Prodigal son in today’s Gospel speaks to us of the compassion of God our loving Father, who like the father in the parable, seeks the lost and celebrates all who repent and return to Him. We must not forget that Jesus came to save sinners. We are all sinners to a greater or lesser degree, and if we want God's forgiveness when we need it for ourselves, then we must understand that that same forgiveness will be extended to all others, no matter what they may have done. We are all brothers and sisters in God’s family, and none of us deserves or can earn God’s freely given fatherly love. If we cannot rejoice in one another’s blessings, no matter how seemingly undeserved, then we are allowing sibling rivalry rather than brotherly love to shape our character and our relationships. We risk becoming like the dutiful but self-righteous older brother who sees only his own ‘worthiness’ and deeply resents his father’s extravagant welcome of the ‘unworthy’ son, instead of rejoicing with him at his brother’s safe return.

Consecration Of Russia And Ukraine To Mary
On Friday, March 25, the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord, Pope Francis will consecrate Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary during a service in St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. In today’s assembly we lifted our prayer to our Blessed Mother. We ask her that she turn her eyes of mercy towards Ukraine and Russia and that she intercede with her son to end the violence and suffering of innocent people.
Please view the link for Act of Consecration to The Immaculate Heart of Mary.
