PARISH BULLETIN
The Fourth Sunday of Lent

This week at Holy Spirit Parish, we allow ourselves a little rejoicing. Today we celebrate the Solemnity of the Annunciation, which outranks the Lenten weekday and is itself a cause for some festivity amidst our penitence. Then, this weekend we will celebrate the Fourth Sunday of Lent, or, Laetare Sunday. As in Advent, the church gives us this rose-colored signpost along our Lenten journey to remind us that the victory over death which we prepare to celebrate liturgically has already been won in history. And so the Church sings: "Laetare Jerusalem... // Rejoice, Jerusalem, and all who love her. Be joyful, all who were in mourning; exult and be satisfied at her consoling breast." (Cf. Is 66:10-11)

Consecration of Russia & Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

Today, March 25, 2022, Pope Francis will consecrate Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary during a special celebration at St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. Accepting the Pope's invitation to all of the world's bishops to join him, Archbishop Jackels will likewise make an Act of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart - perhaps you were able to view either the Pope's or the Archbishop's livestream!

In communion with this worldwide devotion of the whole church, Holy Spirit Parish will have a special holy hour of Adoration, Confession, and an Act of Consecration TONIGHT beginning at 6pm at Sacred Heart Church (following the 5:30pm Lenten Stations of the Cross). Please join us!

Music & Liturgical Ministry

I hope this email or note finds you and your family in good health, many blessings and prayers as we are deep in the season of Lent. The Fourth Sunday this weekend is traditionally known as Laetare Sunday, so called from the antiphon, “Rejoice!” This weekend sets the tone of joyful anticipation for the Easter mystery.

Thank you all for your continued service. God Bless you and your families.

Easter Schedule
Please continue sending in your updates for the Easter Season schedule, April 17th-June 19th. I will use sign-up sheets for Easter Sunday Masses and then add these to the MSP schedule.
