Liturgical Ministry Formation Evening of Reflection

On Monday, May 9th from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., the Office of Liturgy will present Entering into the Eucharistic Prayer with Reverend Anthony Aarons at Annunciation Catholic Church. To register, visit Eventbrite.

 
FDLC Update

The FDLC has provided prayer and liturgical resources for peace as we continue to pray for Ukraine. The resources include Mass Text Suggestions, Sample Intercessions for the Universal Prayer and Music Suggestions. To view these resources, please visit the FDLC website. 

The 2022 National Convention, Tested by Fire Renewed and Transformed, is June 28 - July 1 in-person in Louisville, Kentucky and virtually July 5-7. For more information, please visit the NPM website. 

NPM is offering a Convention Program Scholarship to assist pastoral musicians with limited finances register for either the in-person convention or virtual convention. Applicants must be a member of NPM, a current or recent graduate, or a pastoral musician from an economically disadvantaged parish or currently unemployed. The application deadline is May 15. The St. James Cathedral Choir will present Music and Meditations on Lent and Holy Week this Friday, April 1st at 7:45 p.m. in the Cathedral. Admission is free. 
Upcoming Liturgical Considerations

April 3 - Fifth Sunday of Lent
  • Parishes who have members of the Elect called to the Easter Sacraments celebrate the Third Scrutiny. 
  • The Mass at which the scrutiny takes place uses the texts from the Ritual mass for the Celebration of the Scrutinies found in the Roman Missal. 
    • The readings for the Fifth Sunday of Lent, Year A are used in these Masses regardless of the current liturgical cycle of readings (c.f. RCIA 146).
April 10 - Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord 
April 14 - Holy Thursday
April 15 - Friday of the Passion of the Lord (Good Friday)
April 16 - Holy Saturday
April 17 - Easter Sunday of the Resurrection of the Lord
April 24 - Second Sunday of Easter (Sunday of Divine Mercy)
May 1 - Third Sunday of Easter


The following dates are reminders of important events in the life of the local church in the Diocese of Orlando: 
  • Wednesday, April 13 at 11:00 a.m. - The Chrism Mass at the Basilica of the National Shrine of Mary, Queen of the Universe.
    • No other services in the diocese may conflict with the time of the Chrism Mass.
    • The Holy Oils will be distributed following the Chrism Mass.
  • Bishop Noonan will celebrate the Rite of Ordination of Priests for the Diocese of Orlando at St. James Cathedral on Saturday, May 28 at 10:00 a.m. 
April 19 is the Anniversary of the death of Archbishop William D. Borders, First Bishop of the Diocese of Orlando.
