Ramadan 2022

Welcoming Ramadan

Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu!

Dear ARS Parents and Guardians,

We hope that you and your family are doing well.

Alhamdulilah, Ramadan is around the corner. The observance of Ramadan is always unique and personal. During this month, we all strive to connect with Allah SWT by practicing sacrifice and self-reflection to grow spiritually.

Ramadan at ARS: Alhamdulilah, this year at ARS, we are welcoming the month of Ramadan by presenting several opportunities to our students to continue to build their relationship with Allah SWT and help develop their Islamic identity through fun and learning activities. Such as

  • “Ramadan Around the World” segment in the morning assembly,
  • A “Good Deed Calendar” to encourage and challenge students to work with their families to earn a reward for their kind actions,
  • The launch of a Self-Directed Bitmoji Learning classroom with arts/ crafts, stories, videos, etc.,
  • Khatirah Session before dhuhr salah,
  • Special assembly for the students before the start of the last ‘Asharah,
  • Opportunity to actively participate in community service by helping raise funds to sponsor a community iftar at ISB, and
  • An excellent opportunity to support the ARS Ansar Program by sponsoring the education of children who are less fortunate than us through a partnership with Helping Hand, Insha Allah.

Virtual Parent Institute, “Preparing for Ramadan”: We are hosting a parent institute on March 31, 2022, from 6: 00 pm to 7: 00 pm. It will be hosted by our ARS staff, who will be sharing the spiritual advice, nutritional advice, ideas, and strategies to stay physically and mentally fit during Ramadan and explore Ramadan around the world. This is an excellent opportunity for us to come together to learn and share ideas to prepare and plan for Ramadan, Insha Allah. We hope to see you there, Insha Allah!

Positive Reframing

By: Sr. Farah Shaikh
Positive reframing involves thinking about a negative or challenging situation in a positive way. It can also involve identifying a lesson to be learned from a difficult situation. Try some of these positive reframing ideas with your family.
