"The value of cohousing and the cost of buying in”

Cedar Cohousing LLC, a group that is organizing for an urban transit-oriented cohousing community, is offering a Zoom introductory session Sat., April 2, 2022 at 10 am CDT.

After sharing their statement of values, organizers will highlight the benefits of living in an intentional community that has private units unified around common amenities, which gives each member more for less.

There will be updates on the properties being considered as a location for their prospective community.

More about Story Circles starting March 24th 

Lynn Englund's story circle events, this time three events with a cohesive theme, Explore the Appeal of Cohousing, now on Zoom. First session: Thurs., March 24, 2022 from 7-8:30 pm. Story Circles give us the opportunity to get beyond surface level conversations into a place where we can share experiences from and about our lives with others. Attend one, or attend them all. Preregistration required. Other dates: March 31, April 7. Details, attendance guidelines & registration on Story Circles website.

Group campsite for an affordable national coho conf trip

Madison, WI August 25-28, 2022 - CohousingUS National Conference

Summer is on its way. Would you like to save money on attending the August 25-28 CohousingUS Conference in Madison? Do you like to camp out in tents?

Becca Brackett and Fred Olson have reserved a group camping area in a Dane County park. It's about 5 miles from the conference hotel and is on a bike trail leading to the downtown. There's space for 25 people who bring their own tents. They would like to give Minnesotans, and Twin Cities Cohousing Network friends in particular, the first chance to camp with them. 

Some cooperative assistance in getting set up should be feasible, in case you are fairly new to camping. Basic suggested gear lists will be available. You may view Dane County Park camping rules here.

The fee will be about $10-12 per night for a spot for a single/couple in one tent, depending on how many people participate. Call Fred or Becca @ 612-588-9532 to reserve a spot, or email becca@tccoho.org with "camping" in the subject line.

Fred and Becca would like to suggest some cooperative group meal planning, especially for breakfasts. (It's good practice for cohousing!)

The next Zoom info session for our Minnesota contingent's developing plans to attend the conference--whether you'll be camping or not--will be posted to the Cohousing Meetup Group. Watch that for an announcement.
