The Urbanist hired Christopher Randels as our Eastside reporter on a trial basis in February, and we'd like to make that position permanent and hire folks to cover the South Sound and Snohomish County, too. But to add reporting staff, we're counting on your support.

Thanks to generous readers like you, The Urbanist has grown. But we need past donors to chip in again so that we can sustain that growth. Our twice-annual subscriber drives, like we're in the midst of now, allow us to run a paywall-free publication that is reaching more and more people.

Natalie Bicknell Argerious recapped our publication's highlights over the past six months. We've smashed readership records, redesigned our website to be more user-friendly, and she and Ray also launched The Urbanist podcast, which provides another avenue to follow our coverage and go deeper. We're adding more and more coverage in Bellevue, Tacoma, and other Puget Sound cities, but it takes paying reporters to be sustainable. We want to raise at least $5,000 this drive, but we're not there yet.

In the Seattle metro we have the opportunity to be a guiding light for cities across the nation. But we need advocates, policy wonks, and storytellers to keep us on that path. We're ready to put our shoulder to the grindstone, but we need readers to step up, support our work, and spread the word. Let's do this together. Subscribe today.
