Our classified staff recently joined certificated staff in announcing their intent to unionize. They circulated a petition and quickly reached a majority in order to file for recognition with the state.
The organizing committee held a few info sessions last week for staff who wanted more information about what this means for our classified staff, and they are holding another info session tomorrow for anyone who did not have a chance to attend before, who is just now learning about this effort, or who has lingering questions or concerns.
Can you help spread the word to your colleagues? We know that we do not yet have contact info for all our classified colleagues, and many classified employees work opposite schedules or multiple jobs, making it hard to spread the word sometimes. We want to make sure everyone has the chance to get information, get questions answered, and - most importantly - contribute their VOICE in our growing Collective!
