Happy Spring to All!  March brings the ice and snow melt at Hope 2 One Life home base in Montana.  And as the saying goes "April showers bring May flowers".

We certainly pray for rain showers for our families and villages in Uganda so that the crops can grow.  We also lift up the need for groundwater access for clean water in our local communities.

This season we highlight the ongoing world water crisis and importance
of clean water in observance of

International World Water Day on Tuesday, March 22.
Groundwater - Making the Invisible Visible

Groundwater is invisible, but its impact is visible everywhere. Out of sight, under our feet, groundwater is a hidden treasure that provides clean drinking water and sustains the base flow of our rivers and springs.

In much of Africa groundwater provides the only source of clean potable water.

In Africa, and especially Uganda, most of the population lives in rural areas as sustenance farmers. Lacking the means to install water wells, rural Ugandans have to rely on contaminated surface waters. Drinking and contact with this contaminated water causes frequent outbreaks of waterborne diseases such as typhoid, hepatitis, diarrhea, cholera and dysentery. Our work focuses on comprehensive health, education and community development, but we’ve found that bringing a source of clean water to each village we serve is the essential first step.

Farming God's Way, Nursery Schools and ACFD Bee Hives

February 2022 brought the first Farming God's Way refresher training since the onset of the COVID 19  pandemic. 12 people from our ACFD partner villages (Awere, Palabek, Mboria, Kampala, Awal and Kweyo) attended this valuable training.

Many thanks to Klint and crew from Farming God’s Way Uganda, whom we have collaborated with for many years. Our long time friend and ACFD partner farm manager, Denis Odong, assisted in the trainings and is in the infield mentorship program. He plans to follow up with all of trainees in their own villages in March to reinforce what they have learned, answer questions, observe their fields and provide feedback!  Thanks to you, these transformational trainings and others are made possible!

“Farming God’s Way is an amazing Godly solution to the food security and poverty crisis for the rural poor." It’s sustainable methods and goals include: conserving and capturing water through mulching, improving and restoring soil health with composting, precision garden layout and cultivation (minimal tillage), pest disease and management. Erosion and the effects of drought are minimized. Crop yields increase.

Terence, Director of ACFD continues to deliver chairs, as well as chalk boards and exercise books to the nursery schools. He travels many miles on dirt rural roads to reach these remote villages.

Wipolo Nursery has 120 children attending their nursery school.  Kweyo village has registered 60 children. The nursery school on the Agape Training Center and Farm in Awere has 50 happy children attending.
What a blessing and difference early education makes!

And...after 2 years, a mission team is headed to Uganda in September 2022!!

Our President, hydrologist Tom Osborne, will be leading the team and assessing first hand the Agape Training Center and Farm and all of our partner projects.
We receive wonderful reports and photos from Terence Acaye director of ACFD, our resilient, committed and persevering partner organization.

Solar Well Pumping System on the Agape Farm

$10,000 Goal

This World Water Day spring season we are asking for your support of a special project on our partner - 5 acre Agape Training Center and Farm near Awere, Uganda.
Funds are needed to relocate an existing solar pumping system from one well to another.
This will double daily water availability from 15,000 to 30,000 gallons.
The water is crucial for local domestic consumption, drip irrigation of commercial crops, livestock projects and the highly successful fish farm.
As Covid-19 restrictions ease, the Training Center will be hosting people for educational programs and must have clean water for drinking, washing & food prep.
