My Long COVID Journey

Long COVID refers to the effects of COVID-19 that last for weeks or months after the initial illness. For some, it may appear to be a never-ending cycle of improvement followed by relapse. With the long-term symptoms of coronavirus, which can include difficulty concentrating, fatigue, loss of smell, and shortness of breath, it is essential to not only manage physical symptoms but also boost your mood and mental health.

We hope to raise awareness of Long COVID and the challenges it has brought to so many. Read about our staff member's first hand experience of Long COVID, along with some helpful hints and tips: My Long COVID Journey

Conflict in Ukraine

The current situation in Ukraine is highly distressing for many people, and our thoughts are with everyone affected, whether directly or indirectly, at this difficult time.

Global issues affect all of us in different ways and it’s important to remember there is no right or wrong way to feel about this. Social media posts from Ukraine and neighbouring countries can evoke many unsettling feelings. Reading the news to understand what's going on in the world is an important part of being an informed citizen, but it's also important to keep your mental wellbeing in mind. How should you deal with stress? How to cope?

It’s important to know that you are not alone in your feelings. We have shared some tips on how to take care of your mental health in the midst of this difficult period, including a ‘Loving Kindness’ meditation led by Changes Mindfulness Practitioner, Glenis.

Support The Makers

We are delighted to announce that Changes is now the Support the Makers charity of choice, which means that 10% of all the Positivity Postcards & Badges sales will be donated to Changes. Passionately championing small independent makers from across the United Kingdom, Support the Makers are now championing mental health support too!

You're Invited! Time Capsule Exhibition

Opening night: Thursday, 28th April 2022, 6 - 7:30 pm
Location: The Fraser Centre, 3a Winton Place, Tranent, EH33 1AF

Changes Time Capsule is a collection of artwork created by the Changes community, including participants, volunteers, staff, and East Lothian residents, during the COVID-19 restrictions in 2020, capturing a unique and unusual moment in history.

By sharing poems, stories, and images, the East Lothian community is taking a step back to reflect on the community's experience throughout the pandemic.

The exhibition will remain on display until the end of May.

Register to claim your FREE ticket to the exhibition's opening night on Eventbrite.

We look forward to seeing you there!
