On Sunday, April 24, LLI members will be treated to a reception and backstage tour of Fisher Center prior to an Orchestra Now performance with guest conductor Joseph Young. We will begin with some wine and other beverages and small bites at 12:30 pm. The tour will last for one hour.  

Register below on ProClass for the reception and tour, which has a limit of 50 members.  Select "Semester" then  "Events 2021-2022". 

Please wear your LLI lanyard indicating vaccine and booster stickers or bring proof of vaccination.

At 2:00 p.m., guest conductor Joseph Young, Music Director of the Berkeley Symphony and Resident Conductor of the National Youth Orchestra-USA at Carnegie Hall, will be joined by acclaimed pianist Lara Downes. Ms. Downes will play Piano Concerto in One Movement by Florence Price. Also, the orchestra will perform A Short Piece for Orchestra by Julia Perry. The concert will conclude with the rhythmically expressive Symphony No. 3 by Sergei Rachmaninoff, one of the last great representatives of Romanticism in Russian classical music. The concert will last approximately 2 hours.

There is no limit to the number of people attending the concert. LLI members receive a 20% discount!
