LOCAL COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS

Together we're laying the foundations for the Kings Fund ambition to 'move power and resources to local people and communities'.

So far, 318 charities/community groups (444 VCO staff) have actively engaged in developing their local community plans, feeding into borough wide strategies and started to take action. Co-hosted by CVA and Croydon Council, there have been over 30 Local Community Partnerships (LCPs) events (in community spaces and on-line hybrid sessions).

IN CROYDON NORTH EAST ALONE:

There are 87 Voluntary and Community Sector Organisations (VCOs), 11 active citizens, 32 council staff, 7 NHS (incl. 1 GP), 2 Department for Work & Pension and 2 Met Police officers actively working together on local priorities!
The first Co-Chairs of the Local Community Partnerships are leading the way, Magdalene Adenaike and Nicole Godez are demonstrating how our communities have the expertise to prevent and be pro-active in raising to local challenges and opportunities.

The next workshops on these single issues will be held in person at Crystal Palace and then developed further with the wider partnership at the next quarterly meeting on 25th May, click here to book your place!

ACTIONS FROM LCPs INCLUDE:

  • Pathfinders New Addington to be the first Community Hub to host health & social care staff in weekly trail
  • Community Fairs to be hosted at local Community Hubs to support greater shared knowledge of local activities/support
