The Ramsay Report

Week of March 21, 2022

All Saints celebrated the third Sunday in Lent as it held its 10:00 a.m. service yesterday, both in-person and online.

If you missed Sunday's service, you can watch by clicking here.  You can also view/download the bulletin here.

Finally, if your circumstances permit, please continue to keep your pledges up to date. You may do so by mail or online using Tithely. Simply click the donate button on the website or click here.

Sunday School
Children's Choir held their first rehearsal of "I Want to Walk as a Child of the Light," to be performed during Bishop Franklin's upcoming visit on Sunday morning, April 3.  Another rehearsal will be held immediately following next Sunday's service in the church.

Be sure to watch the latest episode of church school, titled "Ashes and Shamrocks."  Check it out here.

Finally, Church School will continue to hold in-person sessions again in the common room following Sunday morning 10 a.m. services.  There is much to be done to prepare for our annual Good Friday retreat in-person and the return of our annual Easter Garden for the first time since 2019!

The Good Friday Retreat is on Friday, April 15, 2022 starting at 9:00 a.m. Children of all ages are welcome from 1-99!

Liturgical Gifts

The altar greenery is given by Paul and Susan Parfrey to the glory of God and in loving memory of Carolyn Tesar.
The Sanctuary Lamp is given by Paul and Susan Parfrey to the glory of God and in loving memory of Marie McDonald.

There is availability for liturgical gifts throughout the year. To offer a thank-offering or memorial, please call the parish office or sign-up in the book in the Narthex.

COFFEE HOUR IS BACK AND HOSTS ARE NEEDED
A simple coffee hour was held once again.  However, we do need volunteers to help with set-up and clean-up.

Consider signing up to host a coffee hour...
the sign up sheet is posted on the board.
The main requirement is that portions be individually wrapped so that the food stays pristine.

THE BISHOP IS COMING!

Father Byrne has received notice that The Rt. Rev. R. William Franklin will be visiting All Saints on Sunday, April 3 at 10 a.m.  Please mark your calendars!

Bishop Franklin is Assisting Bishop of LongIsland. He was Bishop of the Diocese of Western New York from 2011 – April 2019; and previously served at St. Mark's Church, Philadelphia; at St. Paul's Within the Walls in Rome, for five years; as Associate Director of the American Academy in Rome; and Associate Priest of the Anglican Centre in Rome.

Earlier, he served as Dean of Berkeley Divinity School at Yale, as a professor at the General Theological Seminary in New York and at St. John's University in Minnesota.

He holds a BA from Northwestern University and a Ph.D. in Church History from Harvard.

Bring your work gloves and rakes on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. to help spruce up the outside of the church for Spring!  There is some indoor work to be done too.  For questions, reach out to Junior Warden Karen Friedl.

THE BOTTOM OF THE BARREL...
...is not something we want to see. As your circumstances permit, please continue to bring food for the food pantry. Food insecurity continues to be a growing concern for many people right now.

Mother Karen shared with the Deanery clergy that demand at the food pantry is way up. All Saints has been a generous supplier, and hope we can continue to be.

Show your parish pride with “Church Merch,” “Sacred Swag” or whatever you call a great collection of custom T-shirts, drink-ware, and more available at the All Saints Shop! Visit via our website. Each item you buy helps to fund our mission and ministry.

The Ramsay Report is also looking for breaking news!  Have updates or information to share with the congregation, please email it to Stephanie.tonnesen@gmail.com.  Please put Ramsay Report News in the subject line.  Thanks!

Have a wonderful week!
