Frank Leto is a multidimensional artist who has found a balance between professional musician and professional educator. His lifelong pursuit of musical knowledge has led him to appreciate the music of many cultures, and his ability as a composer has allowed him to share this love for music with his peers, students, and community. Frank leads his band PANdemonium and is featured on vocals, steel drums, and Brazilian and Afro-Cuban percussion. Enjoy this world-renowned band as they entertain from the Gazebo.
Party Food
Grab some corn-on-the-cob from CCR Roasting, tacos from Sharky’s Fish and Shrimp Food Truck or a hot dog from Dawgs for a Cause. All three will be bringing the yum to the Old Town Plaza while surrounding restaurants will be serving signature plates and running specials. Be sure to ask The Taproom at Old Town about their Birthday Celebration Cocktail.
Birthday Activities
There’s a party throughout Historic Old Town. Enjoy free kids’ activities such as face painting and a 25-foot climbing wall, presented by the City of Albuquerque Parks & Recreation Department.
Certain shops around Old Town want to make sure party guests celebrate to the fullest and to ensure this they’ve created one-of-a-kind Albuquerque Birthday Celebration specialty items. ABQ Photographers’ Gallery will offer a 316th birthday poster, Lillie’s Handmade Soap has created a limited-edition soap to celebrate, and check out the custom birthday puzzle made by Puzzled. It’s just not a birthday without a treat. The Flying Roadrunner Bakery has cooked up some Albuquerque Birthday Celebration cookies, be sure to pick them up in Plaza Don Luis. Add these items to your shopping list before they’re gone.
Getting to the Party
Albuquerque’s Birthday Celebration is held in Historic Old Town. Streets throughout Old Town will close to traffic to prepare for the celebration. Please plan accordingly and be mindful of all posted parking signs in the area.
Free shuttles, provided by Airport Parking will be available to take party guests to and from the celebration area. Park for free at the lot on the corner of 18th St. and Bellamah Ave. Shuttles will drop-off guests in the Albuquerque Museum parking lot.
