Student Council is planning a spring spirit week for the week of April 18 - April 22. There will be traditional spirit themed days Monday through Friday and the week will end with a school-wide dance on Friday, April 22. Additional details to follow!

Parents / Guardians and Students,
Please be sure to log on to PowerSchool to review the fees section for your student. Students are responsible for returning all books, materials, and equipment issued to them in appropriate condition or replacement costs are entered in PowerSchool. Fees for testing (Advanced Placement /grade 10 PSAT), transcript fees (gr. 12), Student Activity Fees, etc. are also recorded here. Questions about fees in PowerSchool can be sent to the following:
School policy and procedures do not permit the purchase of parking passes or participation in interscholastic sports, extracurricular activities, or school events (i.e., Prom), including graduation until all financial responsibilities are met.

TEACHER/STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK

Joel Barlow High School
Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week will be celebrated this year from May 2-6. We would really like to show our Barlow staff just how much we appreciate them and all they have done over the past few years for our children. With limited funds allocated for this, we are seeking donations to help cover the cost of the week as well as some food items and volunteers. We will be posting a Sign Up Genius in early April but for right now if you’d like to help out with a monetary donation, please follow this PayPal link. CLASS OF 2022 GRADUATION!

As announced on March 17, the graduation ceremony for the Class of 2022 is scheduled for Monday, June 20, at 5:00 p.m. The ceremony will be held at the O'Neill Center at Western Connecticut State University. Additional information can be found HERE.

Just a friendly reminder, a graduation fee of $40 that includes the costs of caps and gowns is required before they are distributed in June. Checks made payable to JBHS in the amount of $40 can be mailed to:

One Book/One Town Community Read Author Presentation

Meet Melissa Shapiro and Piglet! Join us for an in-person presentation by Melissa Shaprio, DVM - author, Westport resident, and house call veterinarian. Shapiro will be joined (via Zoom) by Tricia Fregeau, a Massachusetts teacher who coined the term “Piglet Mindset” and began using it as a teaching tool with her third graders. Fregeau’s ideas paved the way for a formal Piglet Mindset curriculum. We will also meet Piglet, the inspirational puppy behind the book! Registration is required. Books are available to borrow and for purchase.
