WWTW to feature in BBC Lifeline appeal
 
On April 24th 2022, tune in to BBC One to watch a special WWTW appeal. The appeal focuses on WWTW's mental health, employment and care coordination programmes and it will be presented by a well-known celebrity. During the segment, you will hear from Armed Forces veterans and their families who have received life-changing support from the charity. 
WWTW supports new NHS Veterans' Mental Health service in the East of England
 
From this month former Armed Forces personnel in the East of England can access a new NHS service to support them during a mental health crisis.

Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT) will work alongside WWTW and Mental Health Matters to deliver a Mental Health High Intensity Service for veterans.

The Mental Health High Intensity Service is part of Op COURAGE, an NHS mental health specialist service designed to help serving personnel due to leave the military, reservists, armed forces veterans and their families.

To celebrate International Women's Day WWTW announces new charity Ambassadors

In celebration of International Women’s Day which took place on March 8th, WWTW is excited to announce the appointment of two new Charity Ambassadors, current President of the Army Officer Selection Board, Colonel Lucy Giles and Victoria Bateman, a prominent Armed Forces supporter and widow of an Afghanistan soldier.

NEW Cumbrian Challenge routes revealed
WWTW has announced three exciting new routes for the Cumbrian Challenge. The Cumbrian Challenge is WWTW’s annual flagship fundraising event which takes place in Grasmere on the weekend of May 14th this year.

The routes cater for every ability and will push teams of participants both mentally and physically.

This year marks WWTW’s 9th Cumbrian Challenge event. Since its inception, the event has seen over 1,200 teams take part and raised more than £1.2 million to support veterans and their families.

Meet WWTW's Marathon des Sables team
 
Today, WWTW's Marathon des Sables team head out to Morocco in preparation for the race of a lifetime. 

The infamous Marathon des Sables (MDS) is one of the world's toughest and most iconic endurance challenges which often features on the bucket list of many ultra runners. Taking place in the difficult terrain of the Sahara Desert, participants run a total of 250km in seven days under the blazing desert sun, often leading to temperatures over 40°C. 

Every year, a team of WWTW supporters take on the challenging event to raise vital funds to help support those who served.

WWTW launches new partnership with Newcastle Building Society
 
WWTW and Newcastle Building Society has announced details of a new partnership to help armed forces veterans build meaningful careers in the world of financial services.

The joint initiative will see the North East’s largest building society develop a bespoke recruitment pathway and provide ongoing ‘in post’ care to enhance the recruitment of WWTW service users.

Meet WWTW team member, Sam Cook
 
Sam joined WWTW as a Veterans Liaison Support Officer (VLSO) in August 2020. Sam is home-based and is one of four VLSOs who form part of the new OP Courage South East Veterans Mental Health High Intensity Service, which covers, Hampshire & the Isle of Wight, Sussex, Kent, Surrey, Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire
