With warm weather finally here, our team of designers is preparing for outdoor gatherings filled with family time and fun with friends. The bright, vibrant colors of spring have us feeling inspired to refresh and reset our outdoor spaces – whether that means planting gorgeous flowers, incorporating complementary accent colors, or decorating with thrift store finds. FEATURED PROJECT

For this outdoor space, our client wanted to create a beautiful oasis where her family could escape to relax and enjoy a drink after dinner. Starting with a base color of white (one of our refresh tips in the blog above!), this outdoor living space is timeless, yet fun and playful. Pops of color and bold patterns add interest, with the dark monkey-patterned throw pillows and palm leaf rug complementing the cross-patterned slip-covered seating. Bursts of teal come into play with ceramic glazed side tables, perfect for placing the client’s cocktail of choice, an Aperol Spritz. (P.S. They’re an ADJ summer fave, too!) And you can’t forget the vibrant green plants and surrounding trees that finish off the space.

BEHIND THE SCENES

We are absolutely loving this project that implements our client’s signature color palette (Mediterranean blue, terra cotta, and gold) throughout their entryway and primary suite. The curved stairwell with a newly installed runner welcomes guests, while gold sculptural sconces from Arteriors and the Turkish throw rug create impact with their moody hues. This use of bold colors continues into the breakfast nook with a display of beautiful ceramic vases in the client’s favorite colors (consistency is key to designing a breathtaking space!) which pop off the custom paint color. New cushions and throw pillows add the finishing touches for the client to enjoy their morning coffee.

And next up on their project list: a custom mural featuring gold-glazed walls with glass beads and a 24-carat gold leaf, creating an ethereal effect. This accent wall is what dreams are made of!

DESIGN HACK

Are you embarking on some gardening this spring to brighten up your outdoor spaces? Take note of this design hack: add bricks and/or stones to the bottom of your large planters so that you can set a basket on top to make switching out plants from season to season as easy as
1, 2, 3!

We love working with LoKey Designs and their owner, creator, and plant-loving expert, Laura! Based here in St. Louis, LoKey Designs offers plants, pots, home décor, gifts, and more – as well as plant styling consultations and custom plant creations. We recently worked with Laura to complete a plant installation at a client's home to bring a special touch to their indoor space.

Fun fact: Laura also helped create our charming Christmas gifts for our wonderful clients this past year! How cute are these?
