The Rise of the Naked Bride

Now that spring has officially sprung, we have looked into the most important trends that will feature at SS '22 weddings and other events.

Meanwhile, Rosalía and Charli XCX, who both released new albums in the past week, have got fashion lovers inspired as searches for patent boots and Y2K t-shirts are on the rise.

THE RISE OF THE NAKED BRIDE...
Sheer pieces have been amongst the most viewed over the last three months, suggesting it could be the year of the naked wedding dress. With an increasing number of brides opting for sheer wedding dresses, including Camille Charriere, searches for “sheer white dresses” have increased 80% since the start of the year.

...AND THE SEXY GUEST
Event dressing for Summer 22 will feature bold colours and big cut outs. Since the start of this year, page views for slip dresses have increased 38%, while bright colored camisole dresses have also grown in popularity (+45%). Shoppers are looking for colors such as green, orange, pink and yellow in particular. At the same time, demand for “cut out” dresses has tripled compared to last year.

WHITE TANK TOPS
Searches for high fashion sleeveless white t-shirts have grown 60% in the past 3 months compared to the same period last year. Versace and Rick Owens are amongst the most viewed brands of the category in the Lyst app. Meanwhile, demand for ribbed tank tops has soared 66% since the start of this month.

ROSALÍA & CHARLI XCX
A day after Rosalía's motorcycle-inspired TikTok video was broadcasted, visits increased on Lyst for biker jackets (24%) and sheer red dresses (185%). Meanwhile, the Chopova Lowena skirt that Charli XCX wore at her “CRASH” launch party with Amazon Music saw searches for the brand’s skirts increase by 69%. The night before the album launch, her pink T-shirt by Y2K label Praying (+43%) sent searches soaring.
