The faculty and graduate students of the Florida State University Department of Art History invite you to our annual Graduate Symposium, April 8 & 9, 2022. Scholars from around the country will present 20-minute papers, each followed by open discussion with the audience over Zoom. The sessions conclude with a Museum & Cultural Heritage Studies Roundtable on Saturday afternoon at 3:30pm: Cultural Heritage Careers and Thinking Outside the Museum.
Our keynote speaker this year is Roland Betancourt, Professor of Art History and Chancellor’s Fellow, University of California, Irvine. Dr. Betancourt will present “The Case of Manuel I Komnenos: Gender, Sexuality, and Racialization in Byzantium” on Friday afternoon, April 8 at 5:00 pm (EST).
