Pour ce LASER#11, le collectif curatorial  Traveling Plant  (Europe) rencontrera le  Critical Gardening Collective  (Montréal) pour croiser les enjeux et les milieux qu’ils activent, l’un situant le concept et la matérialité du végétal dans des mouvements de voyage, d’exposition et de communauté; l’autre associant mousses bipolaires, sculptures cybernétiques et piles bactériennes pour créer des jardins sympoïétiques en diverses localités. Une table ronde modérée par Matthew Halpenny [membre étudiant, UdeM] qui réunira Annick Bureaud [directrice de Leonardo/Olats, Paris], Beatriz Herrera [artiste intermédia] et François-Joseph Lapointe [membre cochercheur, UdeM]. For this LASER#11, the curatorial collective Traveling Plant  (Europe) will meet the  Critical Gardening Collective  (Montreal) to activate issues and environments in the making. The first group situates the concept and the materiality of the plant in movements of travel, exhibition and community; the other group combines bipolar mosses, cybernetic sculptures and bacterial piles to create sympoietic gardens in various localities. A round table moderated by Matthew Halpenny [student member, UdeM] that brings together Annick Bureaud [director of Leonardo/Olats, Paris], Beatriz Herrera [Intermedia artist] and François-Joseph Lapointe [co-investigator member, UdeM]. Organisé par Le Groupe de Recherche en Médiatisation du Son [UQAM], cette activité se déroule en français. Inscriptions requises via les formulaires pour participer à la session de la matinée ou la session de l’après-midi. 

Conduites compositionnelles, conduites d’écoute, partitions et dispositifs de création : journée d’actions réflexives de recherche-création médiatique en musique et création sonore immersives en contexte de performance, et de présentation d’études des conduites de composition performatives d’une part et les conduites d’écoute, d’autre part, mais en considérant les dispositifs tel que le dôme à la fois comme une partition technologique et un dispositif-média de création. IWANTMYSTUFFBACK, ANTOINE CARRON  

IWantmyStuffBack est le projet de recherche-création de fin de maîtrise d’Antoine Caron [membre étudiant, UQAM] qui s’intéresse à l’unité d’entreposage en tant qu’une architecture économique. À partir de photographies de lots « abandonnés » vendus lors d’enchères en ligne, cette installation sculpturale et vidéographique enquête et trace les flux d’une économie qui traversent les objets et les lieux.

IWantmyStuffBack is Antoine Caron's [student member, UQAM] Master's research-creation project, which focuses on the storage unit as an economic architecture. Using photographs of "abandoned" itmes sold in online auctions, this sculptural and videographic installation investigates and traces the flows of an economy that crosses objects and places.

Dé[faroucher] de Ludmila Steckelberg [membre étudiante, UQAM] est un projet en arts numériques dont l'intention de recherche-création est la conception d’une cartographie subjective en trois dimensions de lieux d’appartenance à Tiohtià:ke/Montréal. Le projet se veut un exercice exploratoire de mise en relation entre le soi – étrangère, étranger; émigrante, émigrant – et l’autre – dans ce cas, les lieux d’adoption, ses paysages, son architecture.

Dé[faroucher] by Ludmila Steckelberg [student member, UQAM] is a digital art project which research-creation intention is the conception of a subjective cartography in three dimensions of places of belonging in Tiohtià:ke/Montreal. The project is an exploratory exercise in the relationship between the self - stranger; emigrant - and the other - in this case, the places of adoption, its landscapes, its architecture.    

Dans le cadre d’un partenariat entre Zú et l’Université Concordia, Chris Salter [membre cochercheur, Université Concordia] et son équipe de l’Université de Concordia et l'Université McGill discutera “Animate”, leur nouvelle expérience théâtrale virtuelle axée sur les effets émotionnels du changement climatique. Inscription par ici.

LA FEMME OVALE, MARIO CÔTÉ ET LOUISE BÉDARD  

La femme ovale est l’une des chorégraphies majeures de Louise Bédard créée en 2002 sur une musique originale de Jean Derome. Réalisé par Mario Côté [membre cochercheur, UQAM] presque vingt ans plus tard, ce solo, recréé sur une scène sans aucun artifice par la danseuse Marilyn Daoust, nous transporte dans un univers dense, où le grave côtoie le débridé. Présenté dans le cadre du Festival international du film sur l’art. Billeterie ici.

Created in 2002 to an original score composed by Jean Derome, La femme ovale is one of Louise Bédard’s major choreographic pieces. Directed by Mario Côté [co-investigator member, UQAM] Almost 20 years later, the solo is re-created on a bare stage by the dancer Marilyn Daoust, in a costume designed by Angelo Barsetti, transporting us to a dense universe where the serious meets the unbridled. Presented as part of the programme of the Festival international du film sur l’art. Tickets here.  

Nancy Buissières [membre cochercheuse, UQAM] et ses collaborateur.rice.s Anne-Marie Ouellet et Thomas Sinou présenteront White Out [06 au 09 avril] et La chambre des enfants [09 et 10 avril] au CNA. Ces pièces-paysages, créées dans une même scénographie, s’adressent toutefois à des publics différents : la première est conçue pour un public adulte et la seconde pour des enfants du cycle primaire. Dans une lumière diffuse enveloppante, créée par Buissière, les deux propositions veulent se maintenir sur cette mince ligne entre le réel et le rêve. Le dispositif scénique use de procédés d’éclairage et de sonorisation innovants afin d’entrainer le spectateur, enfant ou adulte, dans une tempête sensorielle déroutante.

WHITE OUT : SPOTLIGHT ON NANCY BUISSIÈRES' COLLABORATIVE WORK

Nancy Buissières [co-investigator member, UQAM] with collaborators Anne-Marie Ouellet and Thomas Sinou will present White Out [April 06 to 09] and La chambre des enfants [April 09 and 10] at the NAC. These landscape pieces, created within the same scenography, are intended for different audiences: the first is designed for an adult audience and the second for primary school children. In an enveloping diffuse light, created by Buissière, the two proposals want to maintain themselves on this thin line between reality and dream. The scenic device uses innovative lighting and sound processes in order to lead the spectator, child or adult, into a disconcerting sensory experience.
